Gennady Golovkin showed his class in retaining his world title in wearing down and stopping Martin Murray, in Monte Carlo, recently.
With a record that reads 32-0 with 29 of those wins coming by way of knockout, debates have been raging as to just how good Golovkin is and who he should be fighting in his next few fights.
Eddie Hearn, talking on Sky Sports, is keen to put his man Carl Froch in with Golovkin, although he has admitted that it is a high-risk fight.
Talking about such a contest, Hearn has remarked,
?It is a high-risk fight, then I believe you will see that happening the end of the year, early next year. I am confident Carl Froch will fight him.
?When you talk about Golovkin, Carl Froch has the curiosity to fight Golovkin because no-one knows how good he really is. We know he?s very good but is he exceptional? Can he handle it at 168lbs??
The problem we foresee is that by the end of the year, or early next year, Froch may not have a title to defend. With the WBA ordering Froch to defend against Ward, allied with Froch?s current injury whilst also throwing into the mix Froch?s advancing years, is it an attractive fight for Golovkin to take?
Froch v Golovkin?
