Having retired earlier this year and also after a period of inactivity, courtesy of injury, rumours are in circulation that Carl Froch could be set to come out of retirement.
Froch, who has a record of 33-2 with 24 coming by way of knockout, is being mentioned as an opponent for the middleweight sensation, Gennady Golovkin.
Now whether there are any foundations to this rumour remains to be seen.
Froch certainly enjoyed the attention he received in those two ?super? fights against George Groves and has often cited that he needs to be motivated by who is in the opposite corner to get ?up? for a fight.
However, after his latest brutal victory, at the legendary Madison Square Garden venue, against David Lemieux, Golovkin had insisted that he will not be moving up in weight, to super-middleweight, until he has mopped up and collected every belt available in his current division.
Will the fight between Froch and Golovkin come off? Personally I can?t see it, unless Froch gets active again and brings a genuine super-middleweight title belt to the negotiating table.
