After, supposedly, hanging up his gloves last July, rumours have been circulating that Carl Froch is contemplating a ring comeback.
The thirty-eight year old who last fought back in May 2014, when he knocked out George Groves, at Wembley Stadium, has fuelled the ?coming out of retirement? rumours by suggesting that he feels he has one more fight in him.
Froch, since retiring, has remained in training and whilst there was talk of a fight against the machine that is Gennady Golovkin, it seems that Froch has another target in mind, James DeGale.
DeGale is set to defend his IBF super-middleweight title against Lucien Bute, in December and talking about a ring return, Froch has remarked,
‘I always said once I’ve retired, I won’t come back, but 18 months on from my last fight, I’m starting to think to myself ‘I’m fit, strong, in good shape’
‘But it’s a big if. I might just stick with poker. The desire’s gone, it’s getting the desire back. What would I need? It might be DeGale beating Bute.’
Can you see DeGale tempting Froch out of retirement, or should Froch stay retired?
