Time appears to be running out for Carl Froch.

The IBF and WBA super-middleweight champion has hinted, in true Floyd Mayweather Junior style, he may have only one or two fights left in him.

His burning ambition, although many suspect his next fight might be another all-British blockbuster, this time against James DeGale, is for that swansong in Vegas, possibly against Julio Cesar Chavez Junior.

But progress in making that fight has been slow and discussing his future the Nottingham fighter has remarked,

‘I’m trying to hang in for Las Vegas.?

‘It’s the fight capital of the world and many of my heroes have boxed there. I have not ever been there to fight, but it would tick a massive box in my wonderful career.?

‘And if it’s not then Nottingham Forest’s City Ground would be the next best thing because Nottingham is my home and I am a proud Nottingham man.’

I?m not sure Joe Public would agree with the Nottingham liaison but each to his own. Continuing though, Froch remarks about those few fights left in him, further adding,

‘I have one – maximum two – fights left in me, but it’s got to be right and motivate me.?

‘I need to be fully charged and motivated to get the best out of me – which is what I showed in the last fight against George Groves at Wembley.?

Can Eddie Hearn pull off mission impossible and get Froch that Vegas date or will it be the City Ground in Nottingham and a clash with DeGale?
