This weekend George Groves faces a career defining fight.
Boxing on the under-card of the huge promotion headed up by Floyd Mayweather Junior, Groves takes on Badou Jack for the WBC version of the world super-middleweight title.
For Groves this will be his third world title fight having lost the previous two to his great rival Carl Froch.
Froch, now retired from the ring, has never been one to shy away from what he thinks when it comes to talking about his old adversary and ahead of the fight has some damning words regarding the Hammersmith fighter, with Froch remarking,
?I think Groves is finished now.
?He?s lost power and speed, mentally he?s a bit on edge, he doesn?t seem himself.
?And if mentally you?re not right, will you train properly? Come fight night you?re not the same.?
But, in something of an about turn, Froch has also remarked,
?Groves has every chance of winning that fight with Jack.
?It?s not an easy one, but Badou Jack is very, very limited ? he?s not a world class operator.
?Groves may or may not become WBC champion, but if he does he deserves to ? he works hard, he?s a grafter.
?It would be nice to see him become world champion, it really would.
?I bear no grudges. Without him I wouldn?t have had the defining end to a fantastic career.?
I still can?t work Froch out can you?
