After giving up his IBF title because he wanted a big-name fight in Las Vegas, is Carl Froch now wanting his old belt back?

On May 23rd, James DeGale will finally get his chance to fight for a world title when he takes on Andre Dirrell for the vacant IBF super-middleweight title.

DeGale has to go to the US for the bout with the fight taking place at the Agganis Arena, in Boston, Massachusetts.

Before the fight has even taken place Froch has made mutterings about fighting DeGale, but only if DeGale puts in a decent performance.

Talking about a possible match-up, DeGale has remarked,

?James DeGale is fighting one of my old victims Andre Dirrell for the belt that I vacated and I wish him all the best.

?I hurt my arm quite badly training for Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. DeGale was my mandatory and I didn?t want to hold him up so I vacated the belt. I want him to go to America and bring the belt back to England. If he beats Dirrell and looks good then I might end up fighting him, who knows.?

If I was DeGale I?d tell him to take a running jump but the financial aspect of a dust-up between Froch and DeGale could be almost on a par with when Froch locked horns with George Groves.
