As Carl Froch waits for the next chapter of his career unfold as he patiently waits for his injured elbow to heal, there has been talk of the Nottingham fighter taking on the legend that is Bernard Hopkins.

With Froch chasing a mega-fight in Las Vegas, the suggestion that it could be against The Executioner has left Froch quite sure that a bout against the 50 year-old fighter is not in his best interests.

Talking about a possible bout and declining it, Froch has quite rightly remarked to the media,

?Because he is 50 and a legend I don?t want to fight him because it is almost a lose-lose situation,?

?I am expected to beat him. If I win people will say ?he beat a 50-year-old man?. If I lose people would say ?what?s going on? You?ve ruined your legacy. You finished your career on a loss against an old man? ? so that would be traumatic. I don?t think for one minute I would lose against Hopkins. It would be a great fight and a fight I would win in style.?

For once I?m in perfect agreement with Carl Froch, here is nothing to gain from meeting Hopkins but everything to lose, give it a wide berth Carl.
