After his last fight, over in the US, British fans of Carl Frampton were hoping to see the Belfast fighter fight in the UK once more this year.
However, they look set to be disappointed with Frampton admitting that he?ll not be fighting again before the turn of the year.
But, with the bad news out of the way, it appears that some good news could soon be forthcoming.
It seems that Frampton has decided that his next target will be Scott Quigg with Frampton looking to sort out once and for all who is the best super-bantamweight in the United Kingdom.
Talks relating to a fight have taken place before, but those talks broke up acrimoniously when each party accused the other of wanting too much.
But common sense seems to be prevailing this time with Frampton seeking to take Quigg on at a neutral venue or as Carl puts it,
‘It’s the fight which whets my appetite the most.
‘I would be happy to fight him anywhere but is it fair for the champion to travel to Manchester to fight the challenger? I don’t think it is.
‘I’m happy to go somewhere neutral, maybe London or Birmingham.
‘I don’t think we are going to push for Belfast because I don’t think he would come here.’
Let?s hope that this time there are no insurmountable obstacles put in the way of a tear up everybody is looking forwards to.
Frampton v Quigg ? Back on the Agenda!
