With his recovery from the injuries he sustained in beating Kiko Martinez and grabbing the IBF super-middleweight title, Carl Frampton has announced who he will be fighting next.

Despite calls for the Belfast fighter to engage in a domestic battle with Bury?s Scott Quigg, Frampton will make his first defence against the mandatory challenger, Chris Avolas from the US.

The Frampton camp have also moved quick to quash speculation that the fight could take place in London with it being emphasized that Carl will make the first defence of his strap in the city where he won it ? Belfast.

No fight date has been announced yet although it is anticipated the bot will take place in February of March.

A press conference, with the two fighters in attendance, is scheduled for this week and we understand ticket details will be announced then as well.
