This summer should see the Irish fighter, Carl Frampton; get the world title shot he craves.

Frampton, guided by the legend that is Barry McGuigan, has built up a 17-0 record with 12 by way of knockout and has steadily climbed through the ratings to the #2 position he occupies with the IBF and the WBC allied with the #10 ranking the WBO has afforded him.

Frampton, if he has his way, would like to be matched against the WBC super-bantamweight champion Leo Santa Cruz, who has a record of 26-0-1 with 15 coming by way of knockout.

The Irish fighter believes that the champions? style is made for him and that he would emerge the victor.

As for a time-scale for this fight, Frampton wants it to happen inside the next 4 to 5 months , commenting to the media,

?We?re going after Leo Santa Cruz now, and I think the fight can be realistically made.?

?I think I can get Santa Cruz in 4-5 months.?

If the fight can be made it?ll be a tough fight for Frampton and a fight that could leave us sitting on a knife-edge when it comes to the result being announced, but it could also be the kind of fight that defines Frampton?s career.

Let?s hope the two camps can get it on.
