Speculation had been rife that Carl Frampton was set to end his partnership with Barry McGuigan.
Today that has been confirmed with it being announced that the partnership has come to an end.
The writing appeared to be on the wall when Frampton resigned as a director of Cyclone Promotions ten days ago.
Whilst together McGuigan has seen Frampton win world title at two different weights since turning professional in 2009.
In announcing that the partnership was over, Frampton remarked to the media, that he was,
?Confident now is the right time to move forward and take my career into my own hands’.
Before adding via a statement,
‘I would like to thank Barry, the McGuigan family and Cyclone Promotions for our time together.
‘I still believe that I’m the best featherweight in the world and I promise my fans that I am continuing with my efforts to get my homecoming fight rescheduled in the very near future.’
As for Cyclone Promotions, they?ve chosen to remain silent on the matter.
