Having established himself as the first Northern Irishman to have won world titles at two different weights, Belfast?s Carl Frampton van take another huge step towards greatness this weekend.
Frampton will be going head-to-head against the boxer who he took the WBA featherweight title off of, in July, Leo Santa Cruz.
The fight will be taking place at the MGM Grand Arena, in Las Vegas, an arena only the very best grace.
From his very first few fights, Barry McGuigan has guided Frampton towards what he feels is his destiny, to become a boxing great.
With the big fight fast approaching, McGuigan has spoken about 29-year-old Frampton approaching a pinnacle of his career by headlining at the MGM with the Clones Cyclone remarking about his charge,
‘The pinnacle of the fight game is headlining the strip and that’s what Carl is doing.
‘I said Carl had the ability to go all the way, and certain people in the game laughed at me.
‘It’s childish and frivolous to now laugh at them because it’s pointless.
‘We just want to win.’
And so do we Barry, Frampton faces a tough challenge but having beaten Santa Cruz in the first fight, Carl knows exactly what?s needed.
