With talks relating to an all-British showdown between Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg having faded, it looks as if the Frampton camp has moved their forthcoming aspirations in another direction.Yesterday the Frampton camp announced that they have reached an agreement with the American advisor, Al Haymon.

Haymon is a prominent figure in the US and advises a number of leading boxers which include Floyd Mayweather, Amir Khan, Adonis Stevenson, Adrien Broner and Robert Guerro.

Frampton will still be managed by Barry McGuigan and fight under the Cyclone Promotions banner but the link up with Haymon should open up various opportunities in the super-bantamweight and featherweight divisions.

Talking about the proposed link-up, Frampton remarked,

?I am very happy to have signed with Al Haymon.

?He has been the catalyst to securing the biggest fights in recent years.

?This is an exciting time of my career after winning my world title. My team and I know this relationship with Al Haymon will help take my career to the next level.

?He has a formidable reputation and I am looking forward to it.

Whilst Barry McGuigan added,

?Al Haymon is the best at what he does, there I sno question about this.

?Al works with many world-class fighters in the super-bantamweight and featherweight divisions, so there will be plenty of attractive fights for Carl in the coming years.

?Carl is moving towards the peak of his career and we believe this is the perfect time to strike up this partnership.?

Interesting times ahead for Carl Frampton and his team then.
