After two thrilling fights between Carl Frampton and Leo Santa Cruz, with both fighters having won a fight each, there were high hopes that the duo would get it on a third time.

Indeed, following the second fight, in Las Vegas, whereby Frampton was defeated by Santa Cruz, the hope was that the third fight might take place in Belfast.

However, whilst Santa Cruz seemed to be up for it, it seems his father has put the ky-bosh on such a fight happening.

Talking to the media, Frampton, who was hoping a fight at Windsor Park would give him a chance to reclaim his WBA featherweight belt, doesn?t expect the bout to now happen.

But Frampton has re-iterated that it is still his intention to have his next fight at Windsor Park remarking to the media,

‘If Santa Cruz does not play ball, then Lee Selby makes a lot of sense. Selby is my number two choice but if that doesn’t come off I’ve still got loads of other options.?

But would Selby be willing to fight Frampton in the cauldron that Belfast would be?

That is the big question.
