Finally, the Belfast fighter Carl Frampton has been given a world title shot.

After 18 consecutive wins under the guidance of the legendary Clones Cyclone, Barry McGuigan, negotiations have resulted in a date being set sometime in September whereby Frampton will face the IBF super-bantamweight champion, Kiko Martinez.

Frampton will enter the ring confident he will have his arm raised as the new champion of the world having already registered a win over Kiko Martinez when Frampton stopped the Spaniard in nine rounds back in September 2013.

That fight was for the European belt, since then Martinez has won the world title whilst Frampton has had to wait, can someone explain the logic in that?
