Having two world class fighters in the super-bantamweight means that one, in this case, Carl Frampton, may be forced to wait to face the WBC champion.

Although, following Frampton?s most recent win, Barry McGuigan was confident that the WBC super-bantamweight champion, Leo Santa Cruz, could be tempted to Belfast to take on his man, Santa Cruz has other ideas.

It is being reported that Santa Cruz wants a unification fight with the WBA champion, Scott Quigg, this summer. Only then, when he?s unified those two titles will he take on Frampton.

It?s intimated that Santa Cruz sees Frampton as the harder opponent of the two British fighters but the lure of Quigg?s belt means that Santa Cruz wants a bout with him first before taking on Frampton later in the year.
