News reaching us has confirmed that the exciting young Belfast super-bantamweight Carl Frampton, has been forced to withdraw from the promotion at Wembley this Saturday night.

Frampton was due to defend his IBF inter-continental belt against the Nicaraguan Everth Briceno.

However, it turns out that a re-occurrence of an old ear injury has forced Frampton to pull out after a British Boxing Board of Control assessment,

Speaking to his fans, via the social network site, Twitter, Frampton remarked about the situation,

?An old ear injury mildly reoccurred in a spar.?

?A specialist informed me I was fit to box, but today the BBBoC ruled me out.?

?I?m so sorry especially to the people who were coming to support me.?

?It?s been an amazing camp and I?m gutted that I won?t be able to showcase my improvements in Wembley.?

Indeed, it?s disappointing all round but, as we all know, these things happen in boxing and it really is better to be safe than sorry. Frampton will get over this injury and ready to resume his career, hopefully, on the next Frank Warren show.
