Frampton Celebrates With His Fans

During the early hours of Sunday morning, Carl Frampton all but cemented his status as a legend.

In beating Leo Santa Cruz not only did he end the three-weight world champion?s unbeaten professional record but he also became the first Northern Ireland fighter to become a two-weight world champion.

Forget the fact those across the other side of the pond are bleating that their man was hard-done by and that one boxing pundit is calling for the manner in which fights are scored to be changed, Frampton went to the US, fought one of the best fighters in the world and won the fight on the scorecards of two of the three judges with the third judge scoring it a draw,

Having beaten Leo Santa Cruz and having been in a strict training camp for several months, it?s no wonder that the new WBA featherweight champion chose to go out on the town and celebrate.

It seems that Frampton hired a bar for the night, in downtown Manhattan, for those fans that had vociferously cheered him on and joined them in downing quite a few pints.

Looking at the pictures that have appeared in the press, a wonderful time was had by all, I just wish I?d have been there!
