I guess becoming the new champion of the world is an experience only a handful of fighters get to know.

Carl Frampton falls into that group and whilst many are looking at who he may face next with several names in the frame, including Scott Quigg, Leo Santa Cruz, Guillerimo Rigondeaux and Chris Avolas, Carl is still basking in the glory of just what he has achieved.

Talking in the early hours of Sunday morning, Frampton is reported to have remarked,

?It has been 20 years in the making. It will take a while to sink in. I have a sore head at the minute, so I can?t really think straight, but this is brilliant.?

?I have worked so hard to get here but I am far from finished. This is only the beginning. This is just amazing, It is something I have wanted to do my whole life. I am getting a wee bit emotional. It is just unbelievable. It really is.?

Carl was also quick to praise his manager, Barry McGuigan, who has guided him all the way and treated him like a son, further adding,

?He said after two professional fights that I would be a World champion and people laughed at him. Barry has his reputation to think about but he backed me and I have to thank him from the bottom of my heart as he has looked after me.?

Although several opponents have been quoted as viable for his first defence, there is a thought doing the rounds that Cyclone Promotions believe their man can be a two weight world champion, now who?d bet against that?
