Both seem supremely confident of victory.
As the big super-bantamweight fight, in Manchester, between Scott Quigg and Carl Frampton draws ever nearer, we had the sight of both boxers going face-to-face as the atmosphere and the intensity of the bout reached a pre-fight peak.
Speaking to the media, a confident looking Scott Quigg had this to say to those hanging on to his every word,
‘I believe I am better in every department. Nobody does what I do, I have dedicated myself to this since school. I am better than him in every department.
‘I make the weight always. I am dedicated and disciplined. I believe I will be the bigger man in the ring but it will be my ability and boxing brains that will win me the fight on the night.
‘I am the home fighter, I get the home dressing room. Carl said he is not bothered so that is sorted.
‘This is my arena. I am the home fighter.
‘Everybody tune in. I am confident I am going to win. Training has gone perfect and I am going to prove I am the best super-bantamweight.’
Whereas an equally confident Carl Frampton responded with,
‘I believe I am a better fighter, plain and simple in every department. Scott is a good fighter but no disrespect to him. Ever since I called him out five years ago, I believed that.’
‘Because of the magnitude of the fight, everything needed to be differently. I needed everything to be perfect. We have done it right because I had to and it is a fight I don’t want to lose.
‘It is a laughing matter, there is a dispute about the dressing room. Scott wants the dressing room with the star on it, he is very superstitious and that is a weakness.
‘It will be a great fight and one I fully believe I will win.’
