Weigh-ins can be provocative affairs, with the boxers coming face-to-face the day before the fight.

Having trained for months, often away from family and friends, the adrenalin starts to flow and coming face-to-face with your opponent can act as a physical trigger.

At the weigh-in, in Belfast, for the IBF super-bantamweight title fight between Carl Frampton and Chris Avalos, it certainly did kick-off.

Avalos, after all his midweek talk, came very close to not making the weight. The challenger had to strip down to his birthday suit to make the weight.

Going head-to-head, as is seen the need these days, both fighters were involved in a heated pushing match that almost saw a brawl break-out.

In the ensuing melee the Frampton camp are claiming that Avalos? mother threw a bit of chewing gum at Frampton, a piece of gum that was extracted from her mouth.

It would seem that things are heating up nicely for the main event on Saturday night, may the best man (Frampton) win!
