It seems a long time ago that Anthony Joshua knocked out Charles Martin to win the IBF world heavyweight title.
It was, in fact, April 9th 2016.
Since being stopped in the second round by Joshua, Charles Martin has had two fights as he attempts to get back amongst the throng hoping for a crack at a version of the heavyweight title.
The second and latest of these two fights was last Tuesday when Martin was matched against Mike Marrone, at the Rapides Coliseum in Alexandria, Louisiana.
Martin made quick work of his opponent, forcing a second-round stoppage.
A left to the body had Marrone down on the canvas and when he spat his gum-shield out the referee stopped the fight.
The win takes Martin?s record to 25-1-1 with 23 wins coming by way of knockout.
However, we?re of the belief that Martin may have to accumulate a few more wins in order to be in with a shout at a world title, even more so when you consider how poor he was against Joshua.
