Sad news reached us last night.
News broke that a former opponent of Carl Frampton had been found murdered.
Twenty-three-year-old Alejandro Gonzalez Jnr was found dead, along with two other people, in a truck, in Mexico.
Alejandro Gonzales Jnr fought Frampton in a bout in Texas and managed to have the Northern Irishman on the canvas not once, but twice, before Frampton emerged as the victor.
Twenty-nine-year-old Frampton, obviously upset by the news, had this to say on the social network site Twitter,
?Just hearing the tragic news about Alejandro Gonzalez Jr. One of the nicest guys I’ve shared a ring with. RIP Champ’.
During his career Alejandro Gonzalez Jr won 25 of the 31 fights he participated in.
