The extraordinary career of Bernard ?The Executioner? Hopkins continues.

On Friday it was announced that the 49 year-old has signed up to fight Sergey Kovalev in a light-heavyweight unification match.

At stake will be the IBF/WBA titles currently held by Hopkins and the WBO title held by Kovalev. The contest will take place on 8th November at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Hopkins will enter the ring with a record that reads 55-6-2 with 32 coming by way of knockout whilst Kovalev will enter the ring with a record that reads 25-0-1 with 23 coming by way of knockout.

The fight has all the makings of a classic with Hopkins the ageing but skilful boxer facing an opponent with crushing power, as Nathan Cleverly found out.

It?s definitely a date for the diary ? 8th November, don?t forget it!
