There?s no doubting that Nathan Cleverly and his team have picked a tough opponent in choosing to face Andrzej Fonfara.

Fonfara seems to be relishing the fact that the former light-heavyweight champion will be in the opposite corner come fight night.

Fresh from his marvellous win over Julio Cesar Chavez Junior, last time out, Fonfara is of the opinion that he will do to Cleverly exactly what Serge Kovalev did, namely smash him.

Talking about the fight Fonfara has remarked,

?Nathan fights and hits fast, but I?m much stronger.

?I know my strengths ? conditioning, knockout punch in both hands. People get tired when I?m just warming up. I will not predict a knockout, but why not do to Cleverly, what Sergey Kovalev did in 2013? I will break him down as soon as possible, starting with the first round show him who the man in the ring is.?

After a brief dalliance as a cruiserweight, Cleverly has returned to light-heavyweight and knows that he cannot afford another defeat if he is to remain mixing in the top level.

Can Cleverly do it in the US, it?ll be hard and the odds will be firmly stacked against him, but I reckon the Welshman might just shock those who don?t have the ultimate faith in him.
