The promotion at the Copper Box Arena, on September has been dealt a blow.

The show which is headlined by Billy Joe Saunders making a defence of his middleweight crown against Willie Monroe Jnr, was supposed to have another world title fight on the under-card.

The plan was that the WBO lightweight world champion, Terry Flanagan, would be making a defence against his mandatory challenger Felix Verdejo.

On paper, the match-up looked exciting with Flanagan having a record that reads 33-0 with 13 wins coming by way of knockout and with Verdejo having a record that reads 23-0 with 15 wins coming by way of knockout.

However, the fight has been postponed.

Flanagan has had to withdraw from the bout after suffering a leg injury in training.

Hopefully what should be a classic fight can be rescheduled, if not Flanagan could be stripped of his title.
