On Saturday night, when Terry Flanagan produced that punch to knockout Magdaleno, did he see his career not only go up a rung or two of the ladder but into the stratosphere?
The boxer, who was making the first defence of his title, was the star of the Frank Warren promotion at the Manchester Arena and in doing something to Magdaleno that nobody else, he not only made a point to those who doubted him but signalled his intentions to become a giant of the division.
Frank Warren, who has seen many things in his promotional career, including those memorable nights alongside Ricky Hatton, gushed about Flanagan?s performance,
?I had some great nights at the Manchester Arena with Hatton but I never saw him perform like that.
?Flanagan annihilated Magdaleno and I don?t see any British fighter standing with him. That was the best performance by a British fighter for over two years ? Terry has announced his arrival now.?
It remains to be seen who Flanagan meets next but wouldn?t it be a great domestic tear-up if Anthony Crolla can beat Darleys Perez to make it a clash of two British world title holders.
Flanagan Proves a Point!
