The postponement of the Saunders v Murray WBO world title fight, has had repercussions as far as Terry Flanagan goes.

Flanagan was scheduled to fight the American boxer, Maurice Hooker, for the vacant WBO super-lightweight title on the same promotion.

Flanagan, who has previously held the world lightweight title, was hoping to become a two-weight world title holder.

Now, as Frank Warren explained to the media, the race is on to find a date and a venue for the world title fight with Warren remarking to the media,

‘I am speaking with Hooker’s representative Dino Duva and we will be making an announcement this week on where and when this fight takes place.

‘It is not straightforward as this is an ordered fight for a vacant title but we are working hard to get everything sorted and our priority is to secure Terry his chance to become a two-weight world champion’.

We?ll keep our ears and eyes open and report back once a date and venue has been confirmed for Flanagan v Hooker.
