On the under-card of the Liverpool Echo Arena promotion, on Saturday night, Rocky Fielding produced a devastating display.
In a fight that would see the winner walk away with the British super-middleweight title and also the Commonwealth super-middleweight belt, Rocky Fielding stopped his opponent, David Brophy, in the opening round.
The opening round started in sensational style with both fighters exchanging heavy blows, Brophy, caught by a heavy blow was on unsteady legs and another shot had him on the canvas.
Although Brophy managed to beat the count, Fielding wasn?t prepared to let him off the hook and after a barrage of shots the referee was forced to stop the fight with forty-two seconds of the round remaining.
Following the sensational win, Eddie Hearn suggested that he was looking to get fielding a shot at the reigning European champion, Hadillah Mohoumadi, at the O2 Arena, on the undercard of the Tony Bellew v David Haye rematch in December.
