Down the lower order on the under-card of the promotion at the Excel Arena, in London, last night there were wins for three fighters looking to go onto bigger and better things.

Paul Smith, the current British super-middleweight champion, had his first fight since parting company with his promoter Frank Warren. Up against the Welsh fighter Jamie Ambler, who could at best be described as a journeyman, Smith took the verdict, on points; in the six round encounter.

Anthon Ogogo, an Olympic bronze medallist at the 2012 London games, had his fourth fight as a professional, against Dan Blackwell. Ogogo had a comfortable night winning all six rounds against the gallant man from Wiltshire to extend his unbeaten run.

Kal Yafai, another fighter with Olympic Games experience, had the tenth fight of his professional career against Ashley Lane, from Northampton and stopped his man inside four rounds.
