In Belfast, on Saturday night, the Welsh fighter Craig Evans was defending his WBO European lightweight title.

His opponent was the Irish fighter Stephen Ormond who was hoping to take the belt off of the holder.

Evans made a successful defence of his belt taking the decision by a unanimous decision with the judges scoring the bout,

? 97 ? 91
? 99 ? 89

? 96 ? 93

The fight was sealed in Evan?s favour when Ormond was knocked down twice at the end of the final round with two left hands doing the damage meaning the round was scored 10-7 in favour of Evans.

If Evans gets his way then his next fight would be against the current WBO lightweight champion Terry Flanagan.
