Up in Rotherham last night, on a very entertaining promotion, Chris Eubank Junior was back in the ring for his eleventh professional fight.

Entering the ring with an unblemished record of 10-0, Eubank Junior was matched with the tough Bulgarian Alexey Ribchev.

Ribchev who, to his credit, had taken the fight at short notice, gave Eubank a tough opening two rounds giving the youngster plenty to ponder over.

However the course of the fight was changed in round three when Eubank Junior landed a classy combination that put Ribchev on the canvas. The Bulgarian managed to beat the count but the referee, Howard Foster, was forced to stop the contest when a stiff jab, from Eubank, had Ribchev in trouble again.

Prior to this contest Ribchev had never been stopped and had gone the distance with the British light-middleweight champion Brian Rose.

Therefore, it has to be asked, is now the time to move Eubank Junior up in class?
