To the occasional observer the career of Chris Eubank Junior is, on the surface, a little puzzling.
Whilst the middleweight fighter might be prepared to talk almost as much as his dad, his inactivity remains puzzling.
Eubank Junior hasn?t boxed for seven months as he waits for the big fight his status as he #1 WBA contender guarantees him.
But with Floyd Mayweather Junior having retired, there exists a vacancy for somebody to become one of the biggest names in the sport.
Indeed Eubank, perhaps following in the footsteps of his father, views that slot as his to inherit and is already plotting to be the man to beat the machine that is Gennady Golovkin.
Talking to Sky Sports, Eubank Junior has remarked,
?I want whoever has the belts.
?Obviously you?ve got your man Gennady Golovkin, who is seen as one of the pound-for-pound best.
?I personally see weaknesses in his boxing style and I believe when I get my opportunity, I?ll be able to exploit those weaknesses.?
A bold statement indeed and it remains to see if Eubank Junior can follow up his words with action or, indeed, whether he even gets the chance.
