Having given the green light to professional boxers representing their countries at the Rio 2016 Olympics still rankles with me.
I, like so many other professional boxers, believe it could well sound the death knell for amateur boxing
However, the chance to grab a place at the Olympics seems to have appealed to Chris Eubank Jnr, who volunteered himself for a middleweight berth at the forthcoming Olympic Games.
But it seems as if the offer was made in vane as GB Boxing have rejected approaches from representatives of the Eubank camp.
A spokesperson, discussing the situation, has remarked to the media,
?We explained the qualification process has been going on for months and we already have a qualified boxer in the middleweight category in Antony Fowler.?
Now let?s hope the majority of the other countries follow suit and keep this tournament just how it should, for amateurs.
