When I first studied the bill at the Craven Arena in Hull, I naturally assumed that Kell Brook was topping the bill.

To find out that the bill-topper was, in fact, Luke Campbell left me a little perplexed.

Here we were, a 25 year-old Olympic gold medalist having his first professional fight and also topping the bill in an outdoor arena, quite a feat I think you?ll agree seeing as many professionals begin their careers at the bottom of the undercard.

However, Eddie Hearn has to be congratulated on putting together such a sparkling bill and a bill that entertained us from the moment the first bell sounded until the moment the lights went out signifying the end of the evening.

But was Eddie a little hesitant about going ahead with what many perceived as an outlandish situation?

Well this is what Eddie had to say after the lights dimmed for the last time,

?I don?t think it?s ever happened before, someone turning pro in a stadium fight.?

?I thought Luke was mad when he suggested it but after I came to Hull and saw the support for him, I wanted to give it a go.?

?We wanted to make a statement because we?re going to put a lot behind Luke Campbell.?

What is it they say ? fortune favours the brave?

Saturday night was a unique occasion, Eddie Hearn took a calculated gamble but came up trumps and for that he is to be congratulated.
