The much championed, by the Khan camp, of fighting Devon Alexander in Dubai appears to have fallen by the wayside.

Instead of luring Alexander to Dubai, the fight will now be held in New York, at the Barclay Centre on December 7th.

Discussing the fight location, Richard Schaeffer, of Golden Boy Promotions, had this to say to the media,

?We came very close to staging the bout in Dubai but it would not be possible to put everything in place in time for December. Amir will fight Devon in New York and we are expecting a lot of Amir?s fans to make the trip over because, although it is a fair distance, it is very easy to reach.?

?I?m sure that some time in the future we will take Amir to Dubai because there is a great and growing interest in boxing there.?

To the outsider, looking in, the Alexander camp were always wary of a fight in Dubai, using delaying tactics, it now looks as if they?ve got there way and kept the bout in America, let?s hope the confusion can provoke Khan into providing a tactical master-class and taking the title off of the American so that a bout with Floyd Mayweather Junior can become the next hot topic.
