Like it or not, female boxing is starting to make a big impact in our sport now.

It?s becoming a familiar occurrence to see a fight between two women taking place on a big promotion.

Now whether it is entirely your cup of tea remains to be seen.

But another with a fine reputation in the amateur game is set for her first professional fight.

Claressa Shields had a distinguished amateur career taking gold, in the middleweight division, at the London Olympic Games in 2012 and the Rio Olympic Games in 2016.

Shields, 22-years-of-age, turned professional last November and is set to have her first fight at the MGM Grand Arena, on August 4th.

Her opponent for the first fight of her professional career will be Nikki Adler.

Naturally, we expect Claressa to make waves in the professional ranks, just how quickly the American can rise to the very top remains to be seen.
