After destroying Matthew Macklin with a body punch that saw Macklin fail to beat the count, the WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin is looking for his next opponent, or should that be victim?

One name thrown into the hat, shortly after Macklin?s demise was that of another British fighter, Martin Murray, with the British fighter reckoned, by many, to be the best in his division on these isles of ours.

However, there now seems to be some confusion over whether Murray actually wants the fight!

One version of events doing the rounds infers that Murray, ranked #1 by the WBA, #7 by the WBC and #8 by the IBF is looking into obtaining the necessary visa?s for such a fight but another version of events doing the rounds suggests differently with it being reported that Murray has told Golovkin?s promoter that a fight isn?t in the pipeline as no offer has been made.

Here at Vital Boxing we believe that Golovkin is a formidable opponent and the best in the division and whilst we wouldn?t normally advocate a fighter dodging an opponent we?d be quite understandable if Murray wanted to pursue a different world title route, how about you?
