Youngster suffers first defeat.

Boxing on the undercard at the Copper Box Arena, one of our better amateur fighters and exciting prospect, suffered his first defeat as a professional fighter.

Georgie Keane, who had won his first three professional fights, discovered that the professional ranks can be a lot tougher than anticipated when Keane came up against the capable journeyman, William Warburton.

Warburton used his experience to bully Keane around the ring and outwork him taking the verdict over four close rounds.

For Keane it was a set-back he wasn?t anticipating but, sometimes, a lot more can be learned in defeat than in blowing someone over.

We?re fairly sure that, given the opportunity, Keane will come back the better fighter.
