Whilst for some boxers the road to a world title just seems to open up for them, for others it can be a long trek.

Take the case of James DeGale!

DeGale was under the impression that when he takes on Dyah Davis this Saturday evening it would lead to a final eliminator against Marco Antonio Periban for a crack at the title held by Sakio Bika.

But it appears that is not now the case with it being decreed that if DeGlae can beat Davis,, this Saturday, he?ll then have to face Marco Antonio Periban and then Julo Cesar Chavez for the chance to take a crack at Sakio Bika, clearly a very difficult path.

Speaking about possibly seeing his summer 2014 world title fight dreams disappearing, for now, DeGale has remarked,

?I?m sick of the politics. I was led to believe I?d be fighting for a world title next summer.?

?Now I?m told I have to fight Davis, Periban and now Chavez before boxing for Sakio Bika?s world title.?

Not a lot we can say really, except that defeat on his record, to George Groves, might have been more costly than first anticipated.
