Having won the IBF super-middleweight title in the US against Andre Dirrell, James DeGale made a successful first defence against Lucian Bute in Quebec.

It would seem that the London fighter has no qualms about furthering his career on the road. However, it would seem that the 29-year-old champion does have ambitions of fighting in the United Kingdom again.

Talking to the media, DeGale is attributed as having remarked,

?I don?t mind being known as the Road Warrior.

?But eventually I?ll fight at home and I can?t wait.

?I?m building a good name in America ? but I want to be just as popular in my own country.

?You see fighters go and box abroad and get forgotten. I don?t want to do that and forget about the people in England who backed me from day one.?

Exactly, British boxing made you what you are, never forget that.
