With his status as the mandatory challenger for the IBF super-middleweight title in the bag, life becomes a waiting game for James DeGale now.
It remains to be seen how long DeGale will be forced to wait for his chance and whether or not it will actually be Carl Froch in the opposite corner when that chance arises.
Following the fight, on Saturday night, a fight decided by an emphatic right hand punch that Froch detonated on the chin of George Groves, DeGale had a few words for the media in relation to his chance ot fight for the world title, commenting,
?I don?t think Carl wants to fight me, I?m all wrong for him, and he knows.?
?When he won, I spoke to him and said, ?Well done, you boxed well but I?m next.?
?And he said, ?I have a voluntary first? and laughed.?
That may well be the case but DeGale is confident that Eddie Hearn can deliver further remarking,
?It?s his time now to deliver. But I?m right back in the frame.?
?Eddie said, ?Take this shot, box on the Wembley show. Beat Gonzales and you get the winner of Froch / Groves. I?ve done my part the rest is up to Eddie.?
We wait with baited breath for news of when, where and who it?ll be against!
