As Froch continues to avoid him!
With it being confirmed yesterday, despite rumours to the contrary, James DeGale will be fighting Marco Antonio Periban, on 22nd November, on the under-card of the clash between Tony Bellew and Nathan Cleverly, the fighter nicknamed ?Chunky? has had a few words to say.
Talking about being kept waiting for his mandatory shot at the IBF super-middleweight title, currently held by Carl Froch, DeGale has gone on a verbal attack, remarking about the Nottingham fighter,
?Why won?t he fight me? It?s a simple answer ? he?s scared.?
?If Froch mans up and boxes me he knows he will get battered. That will make him look silly, damaging his legacy.?
Our understanding is that Froch?s mandatory defence, against DeGale, has to be organized by 31st December and the indications we?re getting are that there has been little or no progress when it comes to talks which suggest that Froch may be forced to vacate the belt leaving DeGale, if he remains on track, to fight for the vacant IBF super-middleweight title.
