This Saturday the World Boxing Super Series, super-middleweight version, continues when George Groves takes on Jamie Cox.
The bout will be held at the SSE Wembley Arena with the winner set to take on Chris Eubank Jnr in the semi-final of the competition, early next year.
Groves is the bookmakers favourite to defend his world title belt and march on to the semi-finals, although Jamie Cox may have something to say about that.
However, looking to the future, there will be a very interested fighter watching the outcome of the World Boxing Super Series.
James DeGale, the reigning IBF super-middleweight title holder, is recovering from an operation on his shoulder and is looking towards a re-match with George Groves, sometime in 2018.
DeGale obviously wants Groves to emerge the winner so that he can avenge the only defeat of his professional career.
However, in talking about the prospect of meeting Groves again, DeGale has adopted a strange philosophy which is best explained in a few remarks made by the North London fighter,
?I would like that fight, it would be good for the fans.
?To avenge my only loss would be good but I don?t need George Groves. I don?t want him thinking that I need him.?
I wonder if DeGale would be so quick to talk about a Groves fight if he weren?t to win the World Boxing Super Series and that honour went to Chris Eubank Jnr!
