It seems an age since James DeGale fought in the UK.

The IBG super-middleweight champion has, instead, concentrated on making his mark in the US.

However, it has now been announced that DeGale will make a defence of his IBF super-middleweight belt at the Copper Box Arena, in London, on 9 December.

No opponent has been revealed yet but it will be DeGale?s first fight since he fought Badou Jack, a fight that ended in a majority draw.

After that fight against Badou Jack, DeGale was forced to undergo surgery on a torn rotary cuff but has now fully recovered and has remarked about his comeback, to the media,

‘To be defending my world title in my home city is a dream come true.

‘I’m back in full training and feeling fit and ready to go on 9 December. Fans can look forward to an explosive performance.’

As soon as the name of his opponent, on 9 December, is revealed we?ll report further.
