Back in December, at the Copper Box Arena in London, James DeGale lost his IBF world super-middleweight title.
DeGale was beaten on points by Caleb Truax with the American fighter taking the decision on points, with the scores given as 114-114, 115-112 and 116-112.
It has now been announced that DeGale has been given the chance to regain his IBF crown in a re-match.
The re-match will take place in Las Vegas on 7th April.
Talking about the chance to regain his crown, DeGale remarked to the media,
‘I am not going to make excuses for my poor performance, actions speak louder than words.
‘I am excited to be boxing in Vegas and on Showtime again. The real JD will be back on fight night!’
After suffering the shock loss, DeGale knows he must avenge that defeat, otherwise his career could just come to a grinding halt.
