The super-middleweight division, in Great Britain, continues to be an interesting one.

Tonight James DeGale attempts to move a step nearer to a world title fight when he takes on Stjepan Bozic, at Bluewater.

Although Bozi has a win overFroch on his record, albeit as an amateur, it is a fight we expect DeGale to emerge victorious from, possibly with a late stoppage.

If that is the case then DeGale is already talking about a world title fight by the end of 2013.

It appears DeGale fancies taking on the winner of the title fight between Sakio Bika and Marco Antonio Periban, who fight for the vacant WBC title on 22nd June.

Talking about realising his dream, DeGale is quoted as having remarked to the media,

?By the end of the year, I?ll 100 per cent be fighting for a world title. Trust me, I?m going to be busy.?

?I?m in a very good position in the world rankings. With Bika and Periban boxing soon, I could be in line to meet the winner.?

Which has me asking the question ? has DeGale set his eyes on winning a version of the super-middleweight world title and then setting up a unification fight with Carl Froch. Such an idea may still be some way down the line but, in this game, you just never know do you?

  • ambition never harmed any fighter, just the pain of not achieving those dreams. will DeGale fulfil his dreams, I’m not so sure!
