With both boxers holding versions of a world super-middleweight belt, is a unification fight between George Groves and James DeGale a cert?
Well it certainly looks as if DeGale is doing enough talking to get Groves in the ring although we?re not sure George will agree with what James has had to say.
Ahead of entering hospital to have surgery on a long-standing shoulder injury, DeGale has taken a swipe at Groves, remarking to the media,
‘Groves has gone backwards.
‘I’m not being disrespectful but he’s not got the same sharpness.
‘He has, however, fulfilled his dream of becoming world champion and it makes our potential rematch even bigger.
‘Negotiations will be difficult and the terms will have to be right for the fight to be made.’
Interesting, if Groves has gone backwards wouldn?t DeGale be keen to get in the ring and avenge the only loss on his professional career?
Or is it all just chat!
