The end of this month could see developments in the super-middleweight division.
The UK?s James DeGale, with a record that reads 22-1 with 14 wins coming by way of stoppage, is taking on his mandatory challenger Rogelio Medina, who has a record that reads 36-6, with 30 knockouts, at the Armory, in Washington for the IBF version of the belt.
However, also on the same night the BC super-middleweight champion Badou Jack will be defending his title against Lucien Bute.
DeGale, confident of beating Medina, is looking towards a big unification fight, in the UK, against the winner of the Jack v Bute clash.
Talking about his wish, DeGale is quoted as having remarked,
?I keep telling people they have to know me as the road warrior, I am willing to go anywhere to prove that I?m the best,?
?I won my Olympic gold medal away from home, I won my world title away from home. But my homecoming is coming very soon. Once I beat Medina on April 30, I want the unification fight in London in front of my home people.?
That?s great to hear James, we?ve missed seeing you on these shores.
