Dan Blackwell Retires

The Blackwell family have, in recent weeks, been to hell and back.

After Nick was placed into an induced coma, after fighting Chris Eubank Jnr for the British middleweight title, it appears that his younger brother suffered so much worrying about Nick that he too has decided to stop boxing.

Dan, a fighter who has won just 7 of his 61 fights, but a boxer who has been stopped just once, doesn?t want to put his own family through the same trauma.

Talking about Nick and his own decision to retire, Dan Blackwell has remarked to the media,

I thought my brother was dead – just that thought.

‘What I went through with Nick was horrible.

‘I sent a message to my girlfriend Chantelle. I was a mess on the night, saying ‘I’m sorry for what I put you through, if you felt 1% of what I’m feeling now. I’m never going to box again’.’
